Lohr am Main Deutschland
Tonight we are privileged to be staying in a beautiful home with some great people in Lohr am Main. I really believe Lohr is the prettiest town I’ve ever seen. I happen to live near the picturesque and popular tourist destination of Estes Park, Colorado, but this place is in a whole new league. You just can’t compare an American city with a place like this where virtually the entire downtown is comprised of pristine 500 year-old buildings with cobblestone pavement. Now imagine this beautiful city tucked into a sweeping valley in the tree covered mountains of southern Germany.
We toured the village and hiked in the woods, and I think this is a place I could live–if only for the sheer asthetics.

It’s not made to look like an old German village, it IS an old German village!

I could have taken 100 pictures in this one alley alone. That’s what I call artistic inspiration!

As you can see, I am very happy here

Hi,
I was doing some research for a uni. linguistics project on franconian dialects in the region around lohr am main and i came across your picture page of lohr…must say, the ‘ugly blog’ title kind of confused me for a bit!
I went there myself a few years back and have to agree with you that it’s a beautiful place - your pictures of it are amazing!!
Anyway, just thought i’d mail to let you know that random people, like me in england, come across your ‘ugly blog’ too…and it made me smile at least!

Just did a random search for pics of my mom’s hometown. Been there many times, but not nearly enough. It is the most beautiful place I have been. Too bad you can’t capture smells with your photos. Thanks for the memories.
