Neuschwanstein and The Alps

Today we went to Neuschwanstein castle, and saw a good portion of the German and Austrian Alps. I won’t give you a history lesson here, but the story of “Mad” King Ludwig and Neuschwanstein is quite intriguing.

After taking pictures from the suspended foot bridge (the Marienbrücke), I decided to run up to the top of a ridge for a different perspective. I felt the altitude a little (or maybe I’m just out of shape), but amazingly even the highest point was much lower than where I live. It felt good to give the old lungs a workout though, and some of the tourists seemed impressed to see a dude cranking up such a sizable hill.
