Pastor Ferdie Flores Execution Rumor Update
Today Brother Ferdie Flores’ missions organization has posted an update on the Flores family page to address the execution rumor which has quickly spread around the world wide web:
As of this morning we had received dozens of e-mails and phone calls from several countries from many concerned parties requesting information concerning rumors about the impending execution of Bro. Ferdie Flores. Apparently the information is circulating via e-mail and SMS. I’ve contacted a source close to Bro. Flores regarding those rumors. That source has responded as follows:
“The information you have received is not correct. That information has been going all over the Philippines and even to the States the last couple of days. Actually Ferdie and his family have experienced quite a bit of persecution recently instigated by the Roman Catholic Church. Several threats have been made by priests, but there has not been any physical harm done to Ferdie as of yet. Although last week a mob of about 250 people did surround Ferdie with stones, sticks, and machetes, but the Lord intervened and the crowd was dispersed without incident. As of now things are calm, but could erupt at any time. Ferdie has requested much prayer. But, he was never arrested and was never scheduled for execution as was reported. Hopefully this will clear things up for you. Thank you for writing.”
This is all the information we have at this time. Further updates will be posted on this page as we deem necessary to do so.
While we praise the Lord for this report, we do want to encourage you to continue in prayer for the Flores family.
Widest dissemination of this information is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Robert D. Monteith
Pastor
As Pastor Robert has asked, please spread this update to anyone who may still be wondering about Ferdie Flores, and by all means keep praying for Brother Flores and his family! By the way, how amazing is this!?
…last week a mob of about 250 people did surround Ferdie with stones, sticks, and machetes, but the Lord intervened and the crowd was dispersed without incident.
It only proves that we need to keep praying for Ferdie and other Chistians in areas of persecution. And it wouldn’t be the first time God intervened in a crowd of would-be “stoners”:
When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. John 8:7-9
And Jesus himself miraculously eluded a stoning on more than one occasion (John 8:59, 10:31-39). On the other hand, we know from the martyrs of early Christianity until today that God also allows Christians to die on account of their faith…
When they heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep. Acts 7:54-60
So again, let us continue to lift up Brother Flores and pray that God would surround him with a hedge of protection and place His angels to stand guard over his family.

When I got the message that a pastor was to be executed, I was baffled. I had to search the web to get more information. But I am not too surprised about how rumor can spread. I am most surprise that one can associate the catholic church with such persecution. The Catholic church is in the fore front in spreading the message of Christ. She is the most persecuted for this goodnews. Any attempt to dent the image of the catholic church in any locality is unfair and such rumor paints an ugly picture on Christianity on the whole.
November 14th, 2005 at 3:07 am
I THANK THE GOOD LORD THAT THIS WHOLE THING WAS A RUMOUR.
November 14th, 2005 at 3:48 am
Friends, I am not clear about the role of the Catholic Church on this issue. What is the exact offence of Pastor Ferdie Flores? I understand that the Catholic Church is the most attacked Church, even from so called “Christians” and infidel??? I am confused??? Whatever, thank God for the life of Pastor Ferdie Flores. The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ must be preached to all Nations. Even if we are been killed for it.

Dear Prayer Partners,
This letter is the sequel of my testimony related to the incident transpired in Laclo on October 08, 2005 and October 15, 2005 respectively.
Being tired of the very slow progress of the investigation, I decided myself to go back to Laclo to know the real name of the leaders of those who barge in the church member’s house and chase us out of Laclo.
November 9, 2005 I went back to Laclo, as I ask some people about the names of those involved, I told them that my intention is for them to show up and settle the problem amicably and I don’t want them the world to know that Militia is still living in Laclo in the context of the violence that happened.
While I was sitting inside the house of the church member Deolinda and Manuel Soares, around 1:00 o’clock PM a mob led by the Village chief of Laku Mesak came and beat me. There are more or less 200 people surrounded the house but only more or less ten men were able to get inside and I don’t know how many people did beat me. One of those young people rescued me covering my head but leaving my back exposed to punching and kicking. They held me hostage in that house for maybe one hour until one of the members slip out to call the Police.
While in agony and half conscious I still manage to drive the motorbike back to Manatuto. I went straight to the Police station and tell the Police Chief (Faria) about the incident. I ask him not to tell the problem to their Head in Dili as I still would like to settle the problem amicably and he told me that there is an order for them to report any incident implicating foreigners. After a brief talk to the phone (maybe a cohort in Dili) the chief proceeded to Dili while one of the police ferried me to the hospital. In the Hospital the nurses treated me well and give me a shot to ease my pain and control my blood pressure. My blood pressure rose to 170/110. I called my friend Jose Soares and he ferried me back to my house. Before I sleep, I pass water and in severe pain I noticed urine flows mixed with blood. A sedative (pill) help me sleep well that night.
The following day, November 10, 2005 police officer came to my house twice asking me to appear to the police chief’s office. The third time police officer came back with a police car force me to come to the police office, feeling very heavy I asked my wife to change my clothes as I ca even hardly get up. When I reach there the Police chief (Faria) told me I was a liar screaming at me without giving time to bring my witness. He condemned me and charges me guilty of inventing a story but I vehemently and consistently tell him that I was beaten. I was surprised because as a victim he did not even give me time so I could present my witnesses and deprived of my right to due process. The police chief (Faria) charged me guilty, when he is not a judge.
From the police office the Police chief brings me to Laclo told me that we will investigate the incident. I was very weak, have not drink medicine yet, and haven’t eaten anything. Late when I know the Police chief deceived me because he bring inside the Roman Catholic campus. There the RC priest and lots of people there sitting already. I know I was set up. There I was belittled, mocked, insulted, defamed, jeered, accuse falsely as a thief. The crowd shouted several times that they are willing to go to jail after killing me. The priest told me never to come to that place because if the populace will kill me it is not their fault. The police also warned not to go out from my house as he is not accountable for my safety.

I seem not to get the whole development here. Why would the Catholics persecute the missionary. We have to be tolerant of each other. Man has no right to act God by condenming a feloow human. It is not Godly. However, to God be the glory for not allowing the life of Pastor Flores to be taken. Our God will continue to uphold His own always.

The rumor is now spreading in India. I was born a catholic raised as a pentecost. I attend both churches and I know that in both churches we worship only Him. I still do not undertand why catholics have to be preached “the way”? Kindly do not infuriate people by rediculing their beliefs. Jesus wouldn’t approve of this… We christians should concentrate more on taking the word to those who do not believe in Christ.
October 10th, 2006 at 6:20 pm
please don’t leave the people confused. this is a very sensitive isssue, whether you are a christian, [a catholic for that instance or not}, or not. this issue needs to be further clarified.

October 10, 2006 This rumor is making the rounds again, now in South Africa. Is this still an unfounded rumor or is it genuine?
October 11th, 2006 at 10:16 am
This is the same hoax that goes round every year. Think of the millions of Kingdom dollars that flow out of the Kingdom into the world to perpetuate the hoax. Every sms costs, internet connection time costs. Besides, think of all the Kingdom time being consumed by this pointless excercise.]
I am glad about the prayers that have gone up for this man BUT let’s get real. The Devil is keeping us so busy and so much poorer that we don’t have time and resources for the real thing - winning people to Jesus Christ.
October 11th, 2006 at 1:36 pm
May the will of GOD be done In all situations, let’s glorigy GOD In these moments of pains, may the sevant of GOD (Pastor Ferdie) remember what Paul said: “It is when I am weak that I am strong”. We christians in the whole world stand with him through CHRIST our HEAD..Stay blessed always.

This sms has even shaken the believers in Shanghai, China!!! I believe all chinese Christians are praying now for a hoax?!!!? This will not do.
October 12th, 2006 at 4:23 am
Once again the rumours that spread absolute panic through Christian circles regarding Pastor Ferdie Flores’ alleged planned execution seem to be doing their rounds in South Africa. Although these did prove to be untrue, I think that rather than getting upset about having our time and resources “wasted” having spread this rumour throughout the world, we should marvel at the worldwide network of the Christian faith and the impact that it has on others’ lives. Whether the sms was accurate or not, Pastor Flores and his family are living in a country where 88% of the population is Muslim, and just as many other Christians that know the truth about Christ are living in countries where the truth is persecuted, Pastor Flores and his family have clearly been through tremendously tough times of abuse and assault. They, just like any other persecuted Christians still need our prayers to help them face all those who oppose the Gospel of Christ.
We need to pray for their persecutors too!! Remembering that if these people do not turn to the One and Only True God and accept that Christ was and is the Living Messiah, they are doomed eternally. Many of these persecutors act out of fear for their fellow persecutors (or peer pressure as we know it), or out of ignorance of the Truth, or because they have been brought up in a home of misguided faith. These are the people we need to pray for, so that God will have mercy on them and reveal Himself to them. As For the ones that have been exposed to the truth and blatantly ignore it out of there quest for blood and for violence, or because they are trying to continue their pagan traditions; God will deal with them in a way far more fitting than we could ever.
So, well done to all those of you that displayed such immediate and unblinking faith and solidarity, as I believe this is what it means to be a true Christian that “walks the walk” and not only “talks the talk” We are hear to be a conduit for Christ to the rest of the world.
October 12th, 2006 at 5:13 am
I just got an sms to pray for this Pastor and I didn’t even know who he is, but all the same I feel this barbaric nature has to be stopped. If we can send prayers to God for him and his prayers, lets do so please. The devil is a liar! Even if this is a hoax, we will still be praying for a man of God. God will work things out. Remember that everything works out together for good to those that love God! God bless you all.

I also received an SMS yesterday (12th October 2006) about Ferdie Flores. It would be good to know how Pastor Ferdie is doing in 2006. I look at it like Janet above does…..God knows his needs and Ferdie must need prayer right now or this wouldn’t have happened twelve months later.
If there is anyone out there who can update on how Ferdie and his family are doing in October 2006, please let us know.

Wether this is a mere rumour, or not, the fact remains that Christians all over the world are being persecuted and violated for what they believe. ALL Christians should AT ALL TIMES pray for ALL THE PEOPLE all over the world spreading the gospel of our Lord and our Saviour ….
We will continue praying that Pastor Flores, his family and all other people like him, wherever they may be, will be protected, cherished and given comfort by our Lord Jesus Christ … His mercy is never ending for those who believe in Him!
October 13th, 2006 at 10:39 am
The sms is doing the rounds around Hong Kong. And it spead out very fast , some of us received it 4 time in one day.
October 13th, 2006 at 10:48 am
Thanks God it’s only a rumour!
Through Pastor Flores’s life who remind us God is still working day by day,
He is listening our prayers. Except pray for Pastor Flores and his family
(it’s must), we also need to pray for the unbelivers and the governor. Hope
through the life of Pastor Flores, they can see Jesus love, mercy and
let the unbelivers have a turning point to respect our God, our Lord Jesus.
October 13th, 2006 at 12:11 pm
I will still pray for him that God will intervene and protect Pastor Ferdie and his family.
October 13th, 2006 at 4:41 pm
I pray that this is a hoax and that pastor ferdie is well in body and Spirit but this has shown that when the need arises that we can unite . Let us be careful though that if there is someone else who is in need of our prayers in a similar case, that because of this we do not verify and unite as we should. Remember that we are one anothers keeper so do pray for one another but do it with wisdom and understanding.
October 13th, 2006 at 9:20 pm
Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. (Psalm 67:3)
Thank God that is rumor.
We will keep pray for them
God bless all of us,

Good to know this is only a rumor.
Pray for all missionary around the world.
October 16th, 2006 at 12:58 pm
I thank god that this servant of God was not executed and that it was all misinformation gone wild. i wish we could spread the good news with as much eagerness as we spread such information. It is however encouraging that so many believers are hopefully as faithful to pray and believe God’s intervention as they were in spreading this message. I recieved this news only 12th of october 2006 from zambia and it’s going around in south africa as well. it comes with no date, just saying “he will be executed tomorrow”. it may have been started afresh erroniously by someone who didin’t check that the information was a year old or just someone thinking it a joke. The unfortunate thing is that the next time I recieve an urgent true message, I may not react thinking it a hoax ‘the boy who cried wolf’ for those familiar with that story.
October 21st, 2006 at 2:08 am
When I got the SMS I started praying in the spirit, but the Holy Spirit prompted me to stop praying in that direction. When I also showed my wife the SMS,she wanted to pray, but I told her how the Holy Spirit would’nt let me.Now that I know what the fact is,I will still pray for him, to be able to go through the persecution and not the “execution”. May God continue to protect him and his family,Amen.
